Put the final touches on your Halloween costume and get ready for a scary good time, because Harder Concepts is throwing down a pair of Halloween bashes on Saturday, October 26th! Saintsbury Tavern’s haunted Halloween party features drink specials and a costume contest with a $300 prize for the best overall costume and a $200 prize for the funniest costume, while the Mucky Duck’s monster mash includes cash prizes for the best, second-, and third-best costumes, as well as promos from Fireball and Jack Daniels Apple. Sterling Masters is MCing, too! The party starts at 7p, and the winners will be decided at 11p! Can’t wait to see your wacky/scary/sexy get-ups!

Friday Is the Last Day to Vote for Mucky Duck!

Just a reminder: Friday, 10/25/19 is the last day to vote for the Mucky Duck in Addison Magazine’s Readers’ Choice awards – the Mucky Duck is up for Best Burger, Favorite Place to Drink Craft Beer, and the Mucky Duck's bartender Rachael Hughes has been nominated for Favorite Bartender. Big Tex Cookoff at Saintsbury Tavern!

On Sunday, October 27th, Saintsbury Tavern will host a Big Tex Cook-Off event. If you’ve ever dreamed of wowing State Fair visitors by pushing the envelope in the culinary genre of Fried Food, see how creations stack up, as a team of professional eaters will be on hand to sample and judge your best-fried eats. Can you whip up a deep-fried, funnel-cake-covered kolache, or maybe a deep-fried mint mocha? Saintsbury Tavern is providing the deep fryers for you to make your fried ideas a reality – you just need to bring the food and the $10 entry fee. Creativity, taste, and presentation are all factors in the judges’ decision, the winner takes all. The Big Tex Cook-Off accepts food submissions until 2:30p and the judging is at 3p.
